The pianist Ivajla Kirova was born in 1975 to an engineering family in Bulgaria/ Kardjali. She had her first piano lesson when she was seven years old and she made her first public appearance when she was only nine. Starting in 1988 she received instruction from Prof. Dora Lasarova (student of the famous Heinrich Neuhaus). In 1989 she was honoured with the prize for best intepretation of Chopin from the Polish Culture Institute in Bulgaria (Ballade Nr. 3 op. 47). In 1991 she was admitted as a special student to the class of Prof. Dora Lasarova at the State Music Academy "Pancho Vladigerov" in Sofia. Importance artistic stimulation she received from the bulgarian pianist and composer Prof. Jovcho Krushev and from Prof. Germaine Mounier-Paris. In 1993 she was honoured as the "Best piano student in Bulgaria". Numerous solo appearances in the largest cities of Bulgaria, partly with special cycles for the Bulgarian composers Ljubomir Pipkov and Dimitar Nenov, followed. In 1996 she gave her first benefit concert in Sofia ("Bulgaria" Hall). In 1997 she received her diploma with distinction. In the same year she met the internationally celebrated pianist Prof. Gerhard Oppitz. The two-years master class with him at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Munich opened new artistic horizons for her. Many successful concerts in Germany followed. Among her chamber music partners are also soloists from the National Television and Radio Orchestra of Japan-NHK. In 1999 she was awarded the master class diploma for her special artistic achievements and, at the same time, was offered a piano teaching assignment at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Munich. In 2001 was created her first solo CD in Munich and was entered in the famous Bielefelder Cataloque for Classical Music (Art Voice media 4895). |

Her final concert performance, within the master course Maestro Alexis Weissenberg in Engelberg 2002, was released on double CD in Swiss. In 2003 she officially became a Steinway Artist. In 2004 she was a jury member of the International Piano Competition "Classical and Contemporary" in Bulgaria. In 2005 she held a Master Course at the High School of Music, Dance and Theater in Bulgaria/Stara Zagora. Currently she is giving concerts in western and eastern Europe as well as at the Munich "Residenz". She also plays her own compositions in piano recitals. Her broad repertoire includes works from all eras-from Bach to Beethoven, from Chopin to Rachmaninov and the new music. Her live recordings have been broadcast by Bulgarian and Swiss Radio.
